Sheikh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani (ra), was a leading figure of Islam and sufism. He was born in Larnaca, Cyprus on 23rd April 1922. He graduated as an Islamic scholar under his grandfather before he went to study chemical engineering in 1940 at Istanbul University. His blessed lineage goes through Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani and Moulana Jalal Uddin Rumi descends.

 

Mastering the Islamic sciences and becoming a great spiritual leader (Murshid) in the Naqshbandi Sufi order, Shaykh Nazim (ra) grew to be one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Islam. Converting 10,000 to Islam and having over 100,000 followers all over the globe. Many scholars say he reached the status of “Sultan ul Awliya” (The King of the Righteous friends of God).

 

Painted within his blessed turban are the 40 names of the Golden spiritual Shaykh's of the Naqshbandi Sufi order. The top-most and first name is of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) thereafter Abu Bakr Siddiq (ra) and then the chain of spiritual leaders of the past 1400 years of Islamic history.
